White Lake - An Award Winning Artisan Cheesemaker

White Lake Cheese was started in 2004 by Peter Humphries and Roger Longman. Based in the heart of Cheddar Country they make a range of artisan Goats, Sheeps and Cows milk cheeses.

The Goats milk comes from Rogers own herd, the Cows milk comes from a local Guernsey heard and the sheep milk is also from just down the road.

After 11 years White Lake Cheese makes around 25 different cheeses. Still mainly making goats cheese they process around 12,000 Liters of milk, which produces around a tonne and a half of cheese a week .

They have won many awards including: British Cheese Awards: Best Goats, Best Washed Rind, Best Semi Soft, Best Soft White, Best Fresh and Reserve Chamipon. World Cheese Awards: Super Golds. Mondial du Fromage: Gold.
